Based in rural Kochi on the island of Shikoku in Japan, natural dyer Yurukuru is a nature lover who uses local and environmental friendly materials to create textile products for everyday use.
Inspired by colours of nature such as blues and browns, she uses persimmon juice and indigo leaves to produce persimmon-dyed and indigo-dyed coasters, coffee filters, aprons and bags etc.
The dyer creates simple and long-lasting items that she hopes will make people happy and say, "This has been with me for years."
