Tectoco co., ltd. is a design company established in 2013 by Japanese architect Satoshi Takiguchi. Its first textile brand 'tenp' (meaning 'many cloths' in Japanese) was launched in the same year.
Japanese illustrator/design Toshiyuki Fukuda was invited to develop a new range of textile products with traditional sashiko-weave artisan Kenichi Ohazama at Miwa Orimono in Fukushima. Fukuda explored a gamut of techniques and textiles to convert exquisite illustrations into beautiful fabrics. Employing the experiences and skills of the artisans, merging with regional traditions; the collaboration permits each product to retain its original texture and yet brings a contemporary context.
