Hiromi Ogura was born in Tokyo in 1959, and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts majoring in Industrial Design.
After working at NEC Design and CDM-Milan, she founded STUDIO PI-PA in 1993, providing strategic colour consulting services for various products and architectural projects. She is also a lecturer at various universities in Japan.
She created "Irokumi" for her lectures at a university and she believes that it is a tool that would encourage children's imaginative and creativity.
