Sola is a product brand created by Japanese creative director Koichi Yoshimura from Kyoto based on the beauty of nature. Yoshimura's concept was inspired by artifacts seen at the natural history museum, and through trial and error over the years, sola cube was born.
The name 'Sola' comes from the Chinese kanji 宙, which means 'universe'. It explains everything we know and don’t know, including time and space.
The word also has another meaning: 'blue sky', which is an imaginary world that spreads out like the sky before us.
