Toshihiro Otomo was born in Yokohama, Japan, He studied design at Musashino Art University in Tokyo, and established Otomo design studio in 2014.
In 2018, he collaborated with Trinus to manufacture his award-winning Hana flower pencils.
Trinus is the Latin word for "triple"; it brings together Japanese technology, design and end users in an open platform that offers a new realm of value.
This Japanese crowdfunding platform features unique designs created by designers from across Japan, and helps to launch the successfully backed products into the consumer market.
