In Japan, Ippitsu-sen refers to a type of Japanese letter-writing pad that can be written vertically or horizontally. The pads are common in Japan and are normally used for short casual letters, or as message cards that accompany gifts.
This Ippitsu-sen depicts the cycle of the four seasons, beautifully illustrated by Japanese illustrator/ musician, Akira Kusaka. Made from Mino (famous for its paper-making) washi, the paper has a gentle texture, which matches the poetic and harmonious illustrations.
