Paper tasting set: Washi

This pen-friendly washi paper notepad is designed for paper lovers who want to learn more about Japanese washi paper. Like wine tasting, you can try various kinds of paper and find your favorite pen-friendly paper.

The pack also contains the paper description and a classification table by the paper specialist, which is similar to gaining knowledge from a wine sommelier.

Paper Tasting is a test writing pad that is suitable for different types of pens.

B6 size: Kinkakuden is made on the banks of the Nito river in Kochi prefecture. This is a paper popular with brush calligraphers and is ofen used for copying Buddhist prayers. While the paper itself is made by a machine, all other steps, including QA, counting, cutting, and packaging are done by hand.

A6 size: Nagomi Unryu -Unryu (Dragon cloud) paper was developed in the 1920s in the Echizen area of Fukui prefecture. Cloud patterns are created by blending long strands of mullberry fiber into the pulp. In the case of Nagomi Unryu, Rayon fiber is used to give the paper an elegant shine.

B7 size: Shikoku Tenrei is a modern version of the royal coronation paper used in the enthronement ceremony of the Showa Emperor in 1928. Clusters of fiber, known as "Hana" are scattered in the pulp to give the paper an elegant touch.

Each notepad has 25 sheets, so total of 75 sheets of paper.

Made in Japan.
