Sleeping Village

"Far north, in the land where nature is the lord and only one or two hundred people live, an immense emptiness occupies the air around you and the universe you live in. The shadows of trees, heavy clouds in the sky and the flapping wings of birds all have the power to arouse your imagination, or drag you into some strange dreams."

Swedish artist Ragnar Persson was born and raised in a small rural village in the north of Sweden. 'Sleeping Village' is a set of work that emerged as a result of the artist drawing hungrily while walking around the village. The drawing book contains an additional photo booklet by Ragnar. The photos and drawings resonate with each other, and it includes a text about the village written by Ragnar and a story by his friend, Milène Larsson.
